I just found the following webpage and they have lots of traditional German Christmas cookie recipes in English (!!) on this page...

Just one tip...when the recipe calls for butter...use butter not margarine and of course the stick version and of course the unsalted version, trust me...much better |

My great grandparents came form the Weiden area many years ago. I am interested in learning about the heritage and history of the area. I now live in Ohio and one day want to visit in Weiden. I enjoy reading your emails  |

| Did you all see the new pics of Bin Laden? Fake beard....right?? Why does nobody think of the possiblility that Bin discovered "Just for Men"?? He is simply vain and wants to look good on TV...maybe he is thinking of a carrier change? Well actually he is too old and all the possible openings for dictator are filled already. |

| Well, I was working on a bigger project....I was going to translate Weidens official page into English,.....but after talking to the new mayor of Weiden it turns out that he already has a English site in the works now...so I'll let them do that. |

Hallo Bubba, melde mich wieder mal bei dir, da ich schon lange nichts neues von dir gehört habe. Ja, ich habe es geschaft und habe mich ebenfals von meinen Spamfreunden getrennt!   Das ist jetzt wieder sooo schöön - langsam haben sich auch meine Leser daran gewöhnt und kommunizieren wieder. Das Schuljahr hier geht langsam zu Ende und ich plane schon unseren Urlaub, den ich ab Mitte August habe - es soll auf jeden Fall nach Croatien gehen - Dalmatien - wunderschön! Und wie geht es dir? |

I love your stories and with shame I have to admit that I as a German learn each time something new from the region where I was born. You are quit fare away from good old Germany but you are well informed. But this time you should check out the newest story about “Germany next top model”. She is 20 years old, red haired and from Amberg. And she is not only good looking; she also quit clever, studies mathematics in Regensburg. Ok, not really towns and places but quit nice |

Hello again - just thought I'd check in with you. Haven't been around in a while. The new guest book format is colorful ! You're right - I do look forward to reading your articles about News and events in Weiden. Do you know anyone in Weiden or the area, that does Genealogical research?
